I personally love when grandparents are part of newborn sessions. They know the photos aren’t about them, so they’re happy to entertain and distract the older siblings as needed. Of course they can also jump in for some photos. But it can be incredibly helpful having grandparents be on site to help out in whatever way needed. It’s obviously not a necessity, and for some it could cause more trouble than help. But if you have a close and caring relationship with your or your spouse’s parents, then it is definitely something to consider!

My goal is to keep our newborn session as stress-free and relaxed as possible, so if that means inviting the grandparents to participate in the newborn session, then let’s do it!
