Should you book an engagement session with me?

You're newly engaged! Congratulations! You might be wondering if you should get engagement photos done or not. Obviously I'm a photographer, so my answer to "should I get pictures done for xyz" is always going to be "YES!" for every and any occasion. However, if you are wanting engagement photos done, here are some things to consider:

Working with your wedding photographer

It is ideal to have your engagement session with your wedding photographer. So in "normal" situations, this means you probably won't be booking me for your engagement photos. Working with your wedding photographer is going to be really helpful for you and your partner, and also your photographer. It helps break the ice and helps get you all comfortable around each other so that on your big day it'll go more smoothly, and you'll know better how your photographer will pose you. It also just helps everything feel more natural and relaxed on your wedding day.

Working with me

While I am primarily a family photographer, I also do engagement sessions (see here!). So in cases where you are having a destination wedding, you just really, really want to book me for your session, or for some other reason, then let's do it!! It is still great practice before your wedding, even if I am not the one who will be shooting your wedding. And you'll have genuine memories from our session that you will cherish forever.
